For the connoisseur of high-end vintage design and authentic historical textiles: an extremely rare, 4-meter-long antique Persian nomad runner. With its impressive and scarce dimensions of 420 x 89 cm, this is a majestic statement piece, perfect for the long hallway of a townhouse, a stately hall, or an eclectic luxury interior.
Age and Provenance:
This rug is considerably older than the average vintage carpets on the market. It is a semi-antique to antique masterpiece approximately 60 to 80+ years old (mid-20th century, ca. 1940-1950), originating from the Southern Persian Shiraz/Khamseh region. During this period, nomad weavers still spun their wool and cotton entirely by hand on traditional, mobile looms. This gives the rug its unique, lively, and whimsical texture. Beautiful Distressed Look
Due to decades of footsteps, the wool in the tread (the center) has worn away very slowly and with character. The beautiful white foundation lines visible as a result give the runner that coveted, authentic Wabi-Sabi look that cannot be replicated by any modern machine.
Royal Color Palette:
The deep indigo/navy blue in the inner section contrasts beautifully with the rich terracotta, soft pink, and turquoise geometric nomad medallions.
Fair Vintage Condition:
The rug displays its rich history through characteristic signs of age. The right rolled edge (shirazi) shows some edge damage, and the fringes on the short sides have worn away over time, with slight fraying in the corners. However, the foundation itself remains rock-solid throughout due to the hand-spun base, lies perfectly flat, and is completely free of holes. This is not an average rug, but a weathered piece of antique art that instantly adds soul, warmth, and high-end class to your home.
