Opaline Uranium Vase 27cm
Description: An exceptional tubular soliflore vase in the Mid-Century style (circa 1960), from the great tradition of Italian art glassmaking (Empoli region).
A rare and fascinating collector's item for design enthusiasts:
Materials: Multi-layered opaline glass (milky white core covered with an amber layer).
Unique property: The glass contains uranium, giving it a spectacular green fluorescence under UV light (see photos). The piece offers a striking play of light depending on the exposure, shifting from a warm amber to a vibrant mineral glow.
Dimensions: Height 27 cm / Diameter 5.5 cm.
Weight: 627 g (a testament to the quality and thickness of the blown glass).
Condition: A vintage item in very good condition. A superficial hairline crack, barely visible to the naked eye, is present in a small area. These marks are authentic evidence of the handcrafted manufacturing process (manual cooling) and in no way detract from the strong decorative potential of this piece.
