Education regentiate Germanic languages in Ghent, meanwhile artistic training at the Academy in Antwerp. Maintained close contacts with the etcher Raymond De la Haye from Liège. For a time had his studio 'De Levensboom' (The Tree of Life) on the Sint-Nicolaasplaats in Antwerp. Gained fame mainly for his etchings, in which he captured picturesque old city neighborhoods, beguinages and church towers, singing the praises of the Waasland region, where he had resided since 1940.
