A beautiful etching by the renowned Frisian artist Abe Gerlsma (1919-2012), in very good condition. It is a color etching, a two-plate print. Title of the etching: ‘Ynthemasleat’, created between 1973 and 1977. A ship with outstretched sails sails away from the viewer.
He immortalized the Frisian landscape in all seasons, forms, and atmospheres. In light and backlight, on land and on water. Beautifully and robustly framed behind glass (difficult to take good photos). There are a few small damages to the cardboard on the back of the frame. Hence the mention of ‘scratches’. The whole piece measures 52 cm in width and 42 cm in height. The etching itself is therefore somewhat smaller.
