The composition is striking, emerging from a section of tree trunk, with a Buddha carved in the center of its grain. The contrast between the organic texture and the geometry of the circle is played with, reinforcing an idea of harmony and contemplation, emphasized by the central niche where the Buddha is inserted. Buddha, on the other hand, presents a traditional iconography, with a meditative posture and flowing clothing. The eroded wood suggests a process of natural wear, while human intervention in the carving provides a symbolic and spiritual meaning.
