Product description
This Art Deco teapot from the English manufacturer William Hutton & Sons exemplifies the functional elegance of the 1930s. Its design is distinguished by a classic silhouette enhanced by a gadrooned motif on the lower portion, characteristic of the era's refinement. Made of silver-plated metal on a Britannia base (EPBM), this piece has a bright finish that contrasts harmoniously with its geometric wooden handle. The hinged lid is topped with a carved finial, adding a touch of sophistication. The maker's marks are clearly visible on the underside, attesting to its British origin. The teapot has retained its structural integrity and original patina, bearing witness to its history. It remains a functional serving piece while also offering historical interest to collectors of English silverware. This collectible piece fits perfectly into a classic dining room or an Art Deco interior. It makes a fine addition to an existing tea service or can be displayed as a decorative element on a sideboard or console table. Seller's Note: A beautiful English Art Deco teapot, made around 1928-1935 by William Hutton & Sons, a prominent Sheffield silversmith renowned for the quality of its products. Made of EPBM (Electro-Plated Britannia Metal), it impresses with its clean and elegant lines: a fluted body, a tapered spout, an original wooden handle, a hinged lid, and an integrated filter. A typical 1930s design, both functional and timeless. Hallmarks present on the base: - Wm H & S (William Hutton & Sons) - EPBM - 029 (model reference) - 2 (size number) Condition: Good overall condition. The silver plating is well preserved with a normal patina for its age. The hinge is fully functional, and the handle is original. Note: There is a very slight play in the handle, which does not affect its grip or use. Dimensions: L22.5cm / H12.5cm A beautiful piece of English silverware, ideal for an Art Deco collection, a characterful interior, or to complement an antique service.
