In the 1960s, the Faïenceries de Quimper HB Henriot produced a range of enameled objects intended for the Breton tourist market. Trays, boxes, and ashtrays made of enameled sheet metal featured the traditional designs of the factory on a support that was lighter and less fragile than earthenware. This rectangular tray with rounded corners displays Quimper's most iconic design. At the center, within a medallion circled in blue and pink, a couple in traditional Breton costume. The man from Quimper, wearing a round hat and a blue jacket, holds his walking stick. His companion, in a white coiffe and yellow apron, carries a bouquet. Around them, stylized trees and gulls in the sky. The edge of the tray is adorned with large blue and red thistle flowers on a green foliage background, featuring the factory's characteristic speckled blue scalloped rim. The golden back confirms the nature of the enameled sheet metal support. The signature Faïenceries de Quimper HB Henriot and Henriot France is visible on the piece.
