This plate evokes the charm of tables of yesteryear, when fine porcelain was still customary for daily use in bourgeois homes. The Elite factory, established in France at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, produced pieces of luminous whiteness, with a tight and brilliant glaze that time has not tarnished. The scalloped edge, highlighted by a subtle beaded relief, frames a lightly painted floral decoration: an asymmetrical garland of pink roses, blue flowers, and green foliage runs along the rim, leaving the center immaculate. The composition feels airy, never overpowering. It's the kind of piece you tuck into an antique dresser, to be brought out for the pleasure of a carefully served tea. Diameter approximately 22 cm. Fine porcelain, very satisfactory condition. Elite France stamp on the back.
