This object is a hand-blown glass goblet Vase, representing the German Mid-Century style of the 1960s and 1970s. The Vase is characterized by its filigree silhouette and artisanal craftsmanship, which is characteristic of the glassblowing tradition from the Lauscha region in Thuringia. The Vase has a height of approximately 20 centimeters and a maximum width of 7.5 centimeters. The body is made of amethyst-colored, old rose-colored glass and decorated with a fine, circumferential thread decor in blue and white. An artfully shaped ruffled edge closes the body, which rests on a slender, colorless glass stem with a round foot. The underside shows a smoothly ground pontil mark, a typical feature of hand-blown glass. The condition of the Vase is very good for its age. The glass is processed wafer-thin, which is reflected in an extremely low weight and testifies to high craftsmanship. The object is free of visible damage and retains its original character. As a solitaire object or for a single bloom, this Vase is suitable as an elegant accent on a sideboard, a console, or in a display cabinet. Its design harmoniously blends into Mid-Century Modern style interiors, as well as classic or eclectic furnishings.
