For sale is an exquisite piece of modern porcelain history from the renowned Meissen manufactory. This beautifully shaped and organically designed bowl was created by Ludwig Zepner, one of the most influential designers of the manufactory's modern design language.
The absolute highlight of this piece is the classic underglaze mark with the crossed swords, which here bears the rare addition of "weifs." This marking explicitly identifies the piece as whiteware. The deliberate absence of any painted decoration allows Zepner's flowing, sculptural forms and the fine relief of the flawless porcelain surface to be showcased to their full effect.
