Kilim rug made from 100% Egyptian sheep's wool on a cotton base.
This rug is from an exclusive limited edition, specially produced as exhibition pieces. It was displayed in our showroom for four weeks and is otherwise new and unused.
This series is part of a documentary showcasing the harmonious combinations of knotted and woven rugs. For this project, we carefully coordinated the colors from our various manufacturers.
From 1960s patterns to contemporary designs, the possibilities for combining colors, motifs, techniques, and sizes are virtually limitless.
Our woven rugs are made in Egypt, where the production of nomadic or kilim rugs is closely linked to sheep farming and is a traditional craft practiced exclusively by men. Because of this deeply rooted tradition, we guarantee production without child labor; women are also not involved in the manufacturing process.
The sheep's wool used is washed very gently before dyeing to preserve its natural lanolin content. This acts like a natural protective film, making the rug very easy to care for.
Most stains are repelled by the wool itself and can simply be vacuumed up. Should a stain occur, it can usually be easily dabbed out with a little water and a clean cloth.
