Kilim rug made from 100% Egyptian sheep's wool on a cotton base.
This rug is from an exclusive small series that we had specially made as exhibition pieces. It was displayed in our showroom for four weeks and is otherwise new and unused.
This series is part of a documentary showcasing the harmonious combinations of knotted and woven rugs. We carefully coordinated the colors with our various manufacturers for this purpose. From patterns dating back to the 1960s to contemporary designs, the possibilities for individually combining colors, motifs, techniques, and sizes are virtually limitless.
Our woven rugs are made in Egypt. There, the production of nomadic or kilim rugs is closely linked to sheep farming and is a traditional craft practiced exclusively by men. Because of this deeply rooted tradition, we guarantee production without child labor;
women are also not involved in this production process.
The sheep's wool used is washed with particular care to preserve its natural lanolin content. This acts like a natural protective film, making the rug very easy to care for. This rug is undyed. The different colors are the natural colors of the sheep.
Most dirt is repelled by the wool itself and can be easily vacuumed. Should a stain occur, it can usually be gently dabbed out with a little water and a clean cloth.
