About the designer:
Egon Eiermann (1904 - 1970) is regarded as one of the most important German architects of post-war modernism, having met Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in the 1950s. In specialist literature, he is often given the title "The German Eames".
Egon Eiermann designed the German Pavilion for the 1958 World Exhibition in Brussels. In Germany, he became known in the architectural field in particular for the redesign of the Berlin Memorial Church and the "Langer Eugen" building of the House of Representatives in Bonn.
He developed seating furniture mainly for Wilde & Spieth, but also for Thonet and Richard Lampert.
