Fine Dutch Renaissance chest.
Fluting in the stiles and intarsia work on the panels with ebonized wood.
This decoration is more common in the province of Gelderland.
Little restored, only on the slippers both front pieces are shot.
Typical Dutch is that the high slats run in the plane of the sides.
With that sloping footer in between.
We see the same blackened ornaments on 17th century Dutch cabinets.
And are typical of the Renaissance style.
Nice patina.
