The Dutch Originals Gispen 1016 coat rack is an iconic design by W.H. Gispen from 1933. This freestanding model combines functionality with the characteristic clean lines of early Dutch modernism, making it a timeless addition to any entryway. The coat rack is crafted from a combination of black lacquered metal and chrome-plated steel. The design features a heavy, round cast-iron base with an integrated umbrella stand, a slender black upright, and a chrome-plated crown with hooks and knobs. The umbrella ring halfway up the upright offers additional functionality and visual balance. The original Dutch Originals label, produced by Gebroeders van der Stroom, is present under the base. The object is in very good condition and retains its original finish and structural integrity. The combination of black and chrome creates a strong contrast typical of the Bauhaus and functionalist influences of that era. This coat rack fits perfectly into both classic and modern interiors, from a minimalist hallway to an office space with a penchant for Dutch Design.
