Beautiful vintage vase from the German ceramics house Dumler & Breiden (West Germany, 1960s/70s).
This is the sought-after model 103.25 in a stylish black glaze with rich copper-colored accents and hand-painted gold tribal motifs.

In the late 1960s (around 1968–1970), Dumler & Breiden developed a special copper-colored glaze incorporating fine copper particles. When light strikes this glaze, it creates a beautiful shimmering or brilliant effect because the copper particles reflect light. It fits perfectly with the factory's retro/Fat Lava era and was used on various models, including variations with black, copper, and gold accents, such as your vase model 103.25. The factory was known for innovative glazes during that period (1950s–1970s), and this copper particle glaze was one of their signature developments in the late 1960s. It enhanced the luxurious appearance of their ceramics and was appreciated for its high quality and visual effect.
