The Duett pendant lamp is an iconic design by Bent Gantzel Boysen for Ikea, dating back to the 1970s. This specific model stands out due to its layered silhouette and distinctive color gradient, making it a recognizable piece in Scandinavian design history.
The lamp is crafted from metal and composed of six concentric rings that provide focused, atmospheric light distribution. The design displays a vibrant palette of red, orange, and yellow, typical of the Space Age aesthetic. The inside of the rings is painted white to optimize light reflection. The original Ikea label is still present on the inside of the fixture and in the ceiling rose.
