Product description
Superb dolphin ewer in blown Murano glass, by Antonio Salviati, with remarkable execution finesse. Antique, second half of the 19th century circa 1870. Very elegant composition entirely hot-worked, with a sinuous body of transparent glass tinted pale pink, enriched with inclusions and gold powder. The handle is formed by a large transparent and gilded fish, with a long arched tail, ribbed crest, and applied eye. The lower part is adorned with a second fish modeled in relief, completed with numerous fins and applications worked with pincers in pink, green, and gold tones. The neck rises in a long curve to a spout, giving the whole a particularly spectacular silhouette. Circular foot also enhanced with gold. 25cm high, approximately 10 to 11cm deep and 9cm max width at the base. Very good general condition for its age. We only note the absence of the left fin of the fish forming the handle, a very discreet defect given the richness of the decoration and barely noticeable during presentation. Approximately 700gr.
