Jardin d'Ulysse was founded in the early 1990s and soon championed a new way of decorating interiors. Light wood, aged patinas, country houses, and objects inspired by a familiar past then returned to the forefront. The decor aimed to be warm, romantic, far from the overly strict interiors of previous decades. This frame is a perfect representation of that period. Carved from wood and covered with a light patina with golden hues, it is built around a large heart bordered with small sculpted beads. The finishing work reveals the wood's grain beneath the patina, giving it the intentionally aged appearance that characterized the brand's early collections. The heart is reserved for a photograph. A portrait, a family photo, or a cherished memory takes on an almost intimate role here, like those images once kept on a chest of drawers or a bedside table, rather than in a phone's memory. The back retains its original Jardin d'Ulysse label and easel stand. The frame can also be hung thanks to its hanging hook. A charming decorative piece, representative of the "country chic" aesthetic that marked the end of the 20th century and achieved immense success in the early 2000s.
