Designed by Vico Magistretti for Oluce in the 1970s, the Dim 333 floor lamp is a refined expression of the designer's philosophy, based on reducing form to its essentials while offering maximum functional flexibility. A slender chrome-plated stem rises over two metres in height, supporting an adjustable light source that becomes a subtle architectural presence within the room.
The white lacquered curved metal shade slides freely along the stem and can be oriented as required, allowing both the height and direction of the light to be adjusted with ease. The contrast between the white diffuser and the black lighting assembly, combined with the visual lightness of the chrome structure, perfectly reflects Magistretti's pursuit of rational, intuitive design stripped of unnecessary detail.
More than a conventional floor lamp, the Dim 333 is a highly adaptable lighting system that responds naturally to different interiors while embodying the balance between functionality and formal clarity that defines Vico Magistretti's most enduring work.
