Originating from the Digoin Sarreguemines factory, this large handled dish belongs to the "Vigny" collection, one of the most elegant series produced by the company in the 1950s-1970s. The fine earthenware, in a silky cream white, is crafted with a ribbed relief across its entire rim, the scalloped edge highlighted with a discreet platinum line. The decoration, of remarkable botanical delicacy, features an autumn branch with naturalistic accents: mauve willow catkins with dotted stamens, pink and olive green Virginia creeper leaves, and oak acorns in their cups. The asymmetrical and airy composition allows the whiteness of the piece to breathe with a distinctly Japanese sense of restraint. Placed on a sideboard or used to present cheeses and cold cuts at a dinner, this dish brings the warmth of a bourgeois country table. Approximately 30 cm in diameter.
