Digoin-Sarreguemines is one of the French manufacturers that best navigated the 20th century, maintaining a production of quality earthenware that was both accessible and deeply rooted in everyday life. Its dinnerware sets, recognizable by their meticulously printed patterns and the durability of their glazing, graced generations of French tables. This deep serving dish belongs to the Bastia pattern, one of the manufacturer's most charming designs. Against a cream-white background, a blue-grey grid border frames a scattering of burgundy roses and blue foliage, arranged with the lightness of a hand-tossed bouquet. The design is vibrant, with colors that are bold yet not garish. The backstamp, BASTIA / DIGOIN / SARREGUEMINES, dates the piece to the 1950s-1960s, a period when the manufacturer was still producing in its Lorraine and Burgundy workshops, consistently upholding the quality of its glazing.
