A rose, a few shades of blue, and all the elegance of mid-20th-century French tableware. This flat plate, made of Digoin Sarreguemines faience, belongs to the very charming Cannes model. Its design features two large roses in old rose and burgundy tones, accompanied by delicately shaded blue foliage. Around the floral decoration runs a pale blue frieze made of arches, stylized foliage, and small dots. It lightly frames the composition and gives the plate that lovely balance between floral tradition and the characteristic graphic style of the period's productions. Produced in France around , it bears on the reverse the mark Cannes, Digoin Sarreguemines, France, accompanied by the number 10. With its diameter of approximately 23 cm, it can naturally complete a Cannes set that has become incomplete over the years. But on its own, it has enough character to shine on its own. On a table composed of mismatched antique faience, hung on the wall among a few selected plates, or simply placed on a china cabinet, its large rose almost becomes a small painting.
