Beautiful original vintage pendant lamp by Swedish designer Hans Agne Jakobsson, a distinctive and recognizable example of Scandinavian mid-century design for the well-known Swedish AB Ellyset Markaryd.
The lamp is constructed from multiple curved layers of thin pine veneer, which together form the characteristic pyramid/lamella shape. It is precisely this construction that creates the special lighting effect: when the lamp is lit, the light shines warmly and atmospherically through the fine wooden lamellas. When switched off, it is primarily a beautiful object in the room.
The lamp is in very beautiful original condition. The color and warm appearance of the wood have been preserved particularly well. The lamp has been neatly maintained and, as far as is known, all parts are original. There is only minor damage to one of the wooden lamellas, a small tear and a chip missing from the bottom lamella veneer, something that is common with this lamp and consistent with its age. Please see the detail photo for this. Otherwise, the lamp is in particularly good condition and there are no major damages or restorations. A great opportunity for the enthusiast of Hans Agne Jakobsson, Swedish design, Scandinavian Modern, and vintage lighting.
