Babyboop vase by Ron Arad for Alessi Italy - 2002 This piece is out of production, finished edition Sublime vase in shiny stainless steel. A design must-have exhibited in the permanent collections of the world's greatest museums (MOMA NYC, Beaubourg, Philadelphia Museum of Art...) Vase-sculpture and phenomenal challenge for Alessi technicians. Using his typical and singular language, Ron Arad developed the idea of a "blister" container, coupling two sheets of pressed steel welded together to create a vase that is both organic and playful, a masterpiece that is impossible to tire of. The idea was born of Ron Arad's sculptural aluminum furniture called "Steel Bubbles". It has 2 separate openings for flowers. In perfect, unused condition. Recognized as one of the greatest designers of the 20th century, Ron Arad was born in Tel Aviv and studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Art before moving to London, where he studied with Peter Cook, founder of Archigram. Ron Arad has succeeded in establishing a unique design style using unorthodox combinations of materials and concepts. - Description: Vase - Designer: Ron Arad - Publisher: Alessi - Model: Babyboop - Material: Steel - Production: 2002 - Provenance: 30 cm x 22.5 cm x 11.5 cm
