Designed by Arnold Merckx in the 1980s. The table top is knotted maple and the legs are aluminum.
The table is round (diameter 130 cm) and extends to an oval table (188 x 130 cm) with one additional leaf.
There is some minor damage to the center edge, see the last photo.
About the wood type:
The wood grain that appears here consists of rings of about half a centimeter that resemble bird's eyes. That's why knotted maple is often called "bird's-eye maple." The contrast between light and shadow in these eyes creates a mysterious and fascinating image. The wood color, light white to whitish-yellow, changes to a pale golden brown towards the core of the trunk.
