Deruta majolica is one of the most important Italian ceramic manufacturers; the first pieces date back to the Middle Ages! Originally used in Italian pharmacies, this bottle/jug with a handle dates from approximately 1940/50 and features the 'MA Deruta' hand-painted markings on the base. This beautiful apothecary jug from the 1950s is a magnificent example of Italian majolica art, crafted in Deruta. The jug is richly decorated with traditional motifs and vibrant colors that reflect the Italian artisanal tradition.
