Height: 16.2 cm Diameter: 9.8 cm Incised monogram and date on the base: GL (19)76 In beautiful condition I guarantee careful packaging. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ GERHARD LIEBENTHRON (1925 -2005) Born in 1925 in Neustrelitz. 1948-1951 studied at the North German Art Academy in Bremen under Else Krieg and Dorothea Colberg-Tjadens. 1951 assistant to the sculptor Prof. Gorsemann. From 1952 own workshop in Böttcherstrasse Bremen. Since 1955 involved in numerous national and international exhibitions. Died in Bremen in 2005. Liebenthron's works often show idiosyncratic organic forms and expressive decorations, often with incised decoration techniques. Gerhard Liebenthron's works are represented in many private and public collections in Germany, including the Ceramics Museum Berlin (KMB), the Focke Museum in Bremen and the Hetjens Museum in Düsseldorf.
