Flora Keramiek is a Dutch workshop specializing in hand-painted polychrome pottery in the Delft tradition, active mainly in the 1960s-1980s. Its productions, stamped « Delfts Polychroom / Holland / Handwork », are recognized for the quality of their execution and the richness of their floral decorations. This large decorative plate is a fine example. Against a luminous ivory background, the center features a generous basket of flowers: peonies and blooming flowers in shades of brown, golden ocher, and olive green, accompanied by cobalt blue foliage and white buds. The composition is dense, balanced, painted with a freedom of hand that gives each piece its unique character. The scalloped rim is richly adorned: ocher and brown volutes, stylized tulips, round-petaled flowers, and spiral motifs follow one another along the entire border. A cobalt blue line separates the well from the center, highlighting the composition without making it heavy. The mark on the reverse, stamped « flora keramiek / Delfts / Polychroom / Holland / Handwork » with the workshop's logo, confirms its origin and authenticity. A metal hanging hook is attached to the reverse, ready to be displayed. Diameter: 28 cm. Very good overall condition. A beautiful signed piece of Dutch pottery, in the grand tradition of Delft polychrome.
