A Danish Lowboard from the 1970s whose elongated, low-slung silhouette represents one of the most distinctive forms of Scandinavian design from that decade. Veneered in rosewood, this piece unites the elegance of a prized timber with structural simplicity — a combination that defined Danish furniture during its golden era.
The design builds on the contrast between an expansive horizontal top and slender legs that lift the entire piece off the floor. Proportions are carefully balanced: considerable width paired with minimal height creates an almost floating appearance. The solid wood legs, painted black, provide a striking counterpoint to the warm tones of the rosewood veneer. Gently rounded edges soften the otherwise geometric severity of the form.
The 1970s marked a period of stylistic maturity in Danish furniture making, when designers worked confidently within the visual language established by earlier generations.
