Mid-century icon: “VP Globe”, two-piece PMMA globe with an internal landscape of aluminum reflectors and a chromed lower finial. Soft, atmospheric light.
Iconic “VP Globe” pendant designed by Verner Panton in 1969 for Louis Poulsen (early 1970s first-series piece). The clear PMMA sphere consists of two half-domes joined at the equator. Inside, Panton’s luminous micro-landscape unfolds: a sequence of rolled-edge aluminum reflectors — blue on top and red below — suspended by metal bead chains, with a polished hourglass-shaped center element. A central E27 socket keeps the bulb hidden so light bounces off the reflectors for a soft, atmospheric glow. Finished with a small lower finial and a chromed central stem; original canopy and wiring. Original electrical system in working order.
Good vintage condition with minor age-related signs (light hairlines on the globe and small traces of use consistent with age). Please examine the photos carefully.
