This is a vintage mid-century coffee table with a reversible tabletop.
The style is very reminiscent of Louis Van Teeffelen, but the manufacturer was the Dutch company Creafort (which, incidentally, still exists). The table dates from the early 1960s.
One side of the tabletop is covered with teak veneer and the other with off-white Formica. This is extremely practical when the table is used to serve drinks and snacks. The Formica top is very easy to maintain, keeping the teak side free of stains and rings. The teak veneer side is inlaid with very charming mini ceramic tiles in azure blue shades. The table frame is made of solid teak.
All parts were thoroughly cleaned, sanded in several stages until very smooth, and then treated multiple times with a natural oil. As a result, the wood feels silky smooth and the wood grain is beautifully accentuated.
Technically, the table is very simple yet ingeniously constructed. The table is nice and stable and also fitted with new felt glides.
A beautiful and practical Dutch design piece with a lovely design and high-quality materials.
