Rare and very beautiful covered vase or jar of Persian glazed pottery, Iznik, turquoise, entirely hand-painted with traditional floral, vegetal, and geometric motifs in black. Vintage 1950s-60s. Unsigned. Relatively large, baluster-shaped, with a rounded, bulbous body, a small round foot, a tall, slightly flared neck, and a small lid with a tall knob. Lovely workmanship, delicate decoration, and beautiful glaze.
35cm total height, approximately 17cm maximum diameter. Very good condition, with some superficial and discreet natural crazing in the glaze, a few minor, discreet manufacturing flaws, and a very discreet restoration to the lid (see photos). Approximately 1.2 kg.
