Bückeburg Spherical Vase - Upcycled into a Cordless Table Lamp
Bold red meets urban colors: This cordless vase lamp from the Cityscape Collection combines an original West German Pottery vase with a vibrant Cityscape shade.
The small vintage vase has a strikingly beautiful, bulbous shape with a short neck and an intense, glossy red glaze that shifts between cherry red, ruby red, and darker shades depending on the light. At only 14 cm high and 16 cm wide, it appears compact, yet its round shape makes it quite striking.
The cylindrical lampshade provides a deliberate contrast. The densely layered Cityscape motif depicts skyscrapers in petrol, pink, yellow, blue, orange, green, and red. Individual red tones in the fabric echo the ceramic glaze, visually connecting the two elements.
This interplay is precisely the idea behind the Cityscape Collection: vintage ceramics from the West German Pottery era are reinterpreted with expressive fabrics. A design object from a bygone decade is thus transformed into a unique new piece.
The vase has been converted into a lamp without drilling. The vintage ceramic, with its collector's value, remains completely intact and can be returned to its original state at any time.
Cordless and Versatile
This vase lamp is also cordless. This means it doesn't require a nearby power outlet and can be placed wherever light or a special splash of color is needed – on a sideboard, dining table, or bedside table, as well as on a shelf or, in summer, on a balcony or patio. The rechargeable LED light source is charged via USB-C and can be conveniently controlled with a remote.
