For the enthusiast of old advertising or natural history: The complete first series of 6 antique advertising plates/chromos from circa 1925, published by the well-known wine merchant Ferwerda & Tieman (Amsterdam).
The series is titled "Oostersche Kleurenpracht" (Oriental Splendor of Colors) and shows beautiful tropical butterflies from the Dutch East Indies at actual size. The plates were produced at the time in collaboration with the Zoological Museum Amsterdam.
This concerns the complete series of 6 pieces (No. 1 to No. 6), including the sought-after blue Papilio Ulysses and the yellow Ornithoptera. The reverses contain the original educational texts and the advertisement from the wine merchant. Specifications:
