This teapot with a moon face is often called the "Man in the Moon" teapot. This specific, yellowish version with a rocket-shaped spout is a collector's item. The design is an homage to the famous 1902 French silent film "A Trip to the Moon" (original title: Le Voyage dans la Lune), in which a rocket lands in the moon face's eye.
Made in Japan in the 1950s-60s.
There is a small chip on the spout rim. See photo. This does not detract from the item's originality!
