Beautiful vintage coffee table, designed by Louis van Teeffelen and produced by the Wébé furniture factory in the 1960s. Listed in the original brochure as model "no. 3" and 30 centimeters shorter than its bigger brother, model "no. 1." But we all know size isn't everything, right?
Anyway. We picked up this coffee table from the estate of the original owners in Alkmaar. It was being moved out because the house was being cleared. Besides this table, the house was filled with rattan furniture from Rohé Noordwolde, which is a whole different ball game!
The table has been carefully restored in our workshop. The solid teak frame has regained its deep, warm 1960s color. The veneered top has been freed of rings and refinished. It's striking that the top is slightly lighter in color than the frame, creating a beautiful contrast. Two small imperfections remain; consider them proof of life. A little character never hurts, of course!
The table is sturdy and features a handy magazine rack. Perfect for magazines, (digital) books, a blanket, or just a treat within easy reach. Whatever you use it for, this table will always be an absolute eye-catcher.
The design is unmistakably Teeffelen. Place it among ten other tables and you'll easily spot this one. The frame is organically shaped, elegant, and subtly chic. A clear nod to the Danish aesthetic, but we affectionately call it Dutch Design. A mid-century gem that will last for years to come.
