Coffee table designed by Franco Campo and Carlo Graffi for Home in the 1950s, an example of the refined formal research that characterizes the work of the two Turin-based designers within the landscape of post-war Italian design.
The top features an elongated and gently curved shape with raised edges reminiscent of a large tray. This solution is both aesthetic and functional, elegantly defining the perimeter of the surface and giving the table a distinctive graphic presence.
The structure is supported by slender metal legs that visually lighten the volume of the top and create a refined contrast between the warm wooden surface and the linearity of the metal. The balance between organic surfaces and essential structure perfectly reflects Campo and Graffi’s design language, always oriented toward a synthesis of elegance, functionality, and visual lightness.
An object that clearly represents Italian design of the 1950s, combining constructive simplicity with a strong formal identity.
Condition: structure in good overall condition. The top has been re-veneered in the past; as visible in the photos, the veneer does not perfectly follow the curved edges and is interrupted near the ends.
