Coffee table, Artisans & Paysans de Lozère, under the direction of Jean Touret, 1950, in ash. See catalog photo. Archives: Height: 45 cm. Diameter: 75 cm. After Marolles, Jean Touret sought a return to a more “human” scale. After leaving in 1964, Touret sought to rediscover: Total artistic freedom. A direct relationship with the materials and the artisans. Without the commercial pressure that had transformed Marolles. In Lozère, he did not recreate a structured cooperative but worked in close contact with local farmers, carpenters, and blacksmiths.
