A 47cm vase from a private collection in Northern Germany, crafted in the early Republican period (c. 1915–1935) in the style of the late Guangxu era. A high-quality example of the Hzü enamel tradition, featuring slightly raised, multi-layered enamel painting, finely detailed figures, and warmly applied gold accents. These characteristics clearly distinguish the piece from simple, flat-painted Famille Rose mass-produced ware.
The complex scene, the precise facial features, and the harmonious color palette bear the hallmarks of a workshop that carried the Qing aesthetic into the early modern period. The Guangxu mark (大清光緒年製) indicates this stylistic continuity.
With its vibrant colors, decorative enamel technique, and elegant form, the vase complements a variety of interior design styles, particularly Art Deco, but also eclectic, classic, or modern spaces.
