Rare and special set of four Chinese nesting tables, manufactured by George Zee & Co., Hong Kong – a renowned producer of high-quality Chinese export furniture in the 20th century. The original maker's label is still present on the underside of one of the tables (see photo), confirming its provenance and authenticity. The tables are made of solid dark hardwood and richly decorated with hand-carved reliefs. Traditional Chinese motifs, such as fans, blossom branches, and figurative scenes, are incorporated into the panels. The edges of the tabletops and legs also feature refined carving all around, clearly distinguishing this set from simpler nesting tables. The tables slide fully into each other to form an elegant unit, but can also be used individually as a side table, pedestal, or decorative accent piece.
