Beautiful antique Chinese blue and white plate from the Nanking Cargo shipwreck collection! This is no ordinary porcelain: it comes from the VOC ship that sank in 1752, salvaged in 1985, and auctioned at Christie's Amsterdam in 1986.
At the center is an atmospheric landscape with a classic Chinese pavilion, trees, rocks, water, and a boat – framed by a beautiful border with peonies and a geometric motif. Diameter approx. 24 cm. Normal wreckage marks (slight discoloration/edge spots – see close-up photos), but otherwise intact and highly decorative.
