Antique solid wood chiffonier with 9 small drawers and 1 large drawer at the top. Created in the 18th century, the chiffonnier is a taller-than-wide piece of storage furniture with several drawers. At the time, it was found in bedrooms, where it was used to store linen and rags. There are different types of chiffonier, such as the "meuble semainier". In the 20th century, the wooden chiffonier moved into the living room and became a practical storage unit for various objects and utensils. This piece of furniture has been refurbished, waxed and repainted in grey for the structure and 5 small drawers, and off-white for the other drawers. The knobs are in natural round wood, and have been waxed like the top. It's old but in good condition, of course there are a few traces of wear and a little play on some drawers, but it's stable and solid.
