Brutalist chest of drawers in solid elm by Maison Regain, 1970.
The front opens to reveal four drawers of varying heights with cross-laminated joinery, showcasing high-quality traditional joinery.
The chest's handles are leather.
A French manufacturer from the 1960s to the 1980s, Maison Regain embodied artisanal excellence. Rather than centralizing production in a soulless factory, the company had its pieces crafted in various workshops across France, ensuring they worked with the finest cabinetmakers in each specialty. While the brand took precedence over ego, one name deserves to be remembered: Roland Haeusler. He designed the majority of the architectural lines—massive yet so delicate—that characterize the Regain style. Good overall condition (minor signs of wear)
Length 106 cm / Width 52 cm / Height 77 cm
Drawer heights: 2 x 9 cm and 2 x 12 cm.
