In 1960, Charles and Ray Eames' Eames Office was commissioned by Time Inc. to furnish three entrance halls to the Rockefeller Center in New York. In addition to the total transformation of the interior design, this project also led to the creation of the comfortable Lobby Chairs and a series of solid walnut stools.
Charles and Ray Eames are among the most important design personalities of the 20th century. Their work includes furniture design, film and photography, and exhibition design. Vitra is the only company authorized to manufacture their products in Europe.
