Beautiful, monumental Art Deco sculpture of a panther and a snake, designed by Charles Catteau for Boch Frères Keramis (La Louvière, Belgium). This rare piece is executed in a deep cream-colored monochrome glaze that brilliantly showcases the typical, stylized formal language of the Interbellum period.
The object is officially documented in the standard catalogue Art Deco Ceramics Made In Belgium: Charles Catteau by Marc Pairon (Page 298, Mold number F1132). The designer's signature is beautifully applied to the mold, and the mold number is also stamped on the underside. Maker: Boch Frères Keramis
