Product description
An Italian chandelier from the 1970s characterised by a geometric chrome-plated metal structure surrounded by a composition of transparent glass elements. The design is defined by the contrast between the rigorous metal framework and the irregular, highly textured quality of the glass, giving the lamp a strong sculptural presence.
The square central structure supports four orthogonally arranged arms carrying the light sources. Around it, the diffuser is composed of glass panels of different sizes arranged on multiple levels and secured by small metal fittings. The glass features a strongly textured surface, with irregular edges and variations in thickness that emphasise its material quality and create constantly changing effects of refraction.
When illuminated, the chandelier takes on a distinctly different appearance: light passes through the irregular glass surfaces, creating reflections and luminous variations, while the chrome-plated metal further amplifies the brightness of the composition. The overlapping glass panels create a compact yet visually dynamic volume, representative of the experimentation with glass and metal that characterised much Italian lighting design during the 1970s.
