An iconic piece of American mid-century modern design, this Champagne Chair was created by the renowned husband-and-wife design duo Estelle & Erwin Laverne in the late 1950s / early 1960s.
Part of the Lavernes’ groundbreaking exploration of transparent materials, the chair exemplifies their vision of “invisible design”—furniture that occupies space without visually overwhelming it. The sculptural shell is crafted from molded transparent acrylic (Lucite), elegantly shaped to cradle the body, and mounted on a refined pedestal base that enhances its floating, architectural presence.
