For sale is a distinctive mid-century design object by the Italian designer Cerri Nestore from the 1970s. Crafted from solid, open-pored travertine, this piece captivates with its brutalist, raw aesthetic and the warm coloring of the natural stone.
Although originally designed as an ashtray, it now serves perfectly as a sculptural home accessory on a coffee table or as a stylish "vide poche" (paper basket) for the entryway. The organic structure of the stone makes each piece absolutely unique, seamlessly integrating into modern, minimalist, or wabi-sabi-inspired interiors.
Details:
Designer: Cerri Nestore
Origin: Italy, 1970s
Material: Solid travertine
Dimensions: L 14 cm x W 14 cm x H 4 cm
Weight: 1.24 kg
Condition:
The object is in good, authentic vintage condition. There are two small chips on the edges (see close-up photos). However, due to the natural, highly textured, and irregular nature of the travertine, these signs of age are hardly noticeable and actually emphasize the patina and rustic character of the original 1970s design. Four black felt/rubber pads are attached to the underside to protect surfaces.
Shipping: I offer very careful, shockproof shipping to ensure the piece arrives undamaged.
Note:
This is a private sale. The sale is final and excludes any liability for defects, warranty, guarantee, or returns.
