This table lamp is executed in glazed stoneware in the style of Roger Capron, echoing the ceramic language associated with Vallauris in the south of France during the 1960s. The rounded, disc-like base carries the Herbier pattern, a double fern leaf motif incised into the clay before glazing, so the fronds sit slightly recessed beneath a warm, mottled sand-toned glaze that shifts between ochre and pale green depending on the light. The neck rises in a narrow, tapered column toward the socket, keeping the silhouette low and grounded. The base is stamped on the underside, a detail typical of studio ceramics from this period and region.
